As confirmed earlier, one episode is called “Lost in Nightmares” and will serve as a prequel to the game.

Exploring the back story of Chris and Jill’s mission into the mysterious Spencer Mansion, the first episode will see release on 17th February for the Xbox 360 and 18th February for the PS3.

The second episode will be called “Desperate Escape” and will be released in March. Serving as a side story to the plot of the Resident Evil 5, this episode will see Jill Valentine and Josh Stone working together in an attempt to escape the Tricell Facility.

Capcom have also released this new trailer, giving further insight as to what to expect.

Set to hit both PSN and XBLA early next year, in addition to the new episodes Capcom are planning to release a host of new costumes and a new “Mercenaries Reunion” mode featuring 8 playable characters and weapon load outs.

Capcom have also confirmed that the content will be available to buy in the shops, naturally including the original game.

Regarding the episodic content, Capcom had this to say:

“Previously only seen during cut scenes of the original RESIDENT EVIL 5, the first new episode titled ‘LOST IN NIGHTMARES‘, finds BSAA agent, Chris Redfield, working with his partner, Jill Valentine, as they investigate Ozwell E. Spencer’s hideaway. Spencer, the evil mastermind and co-founder of Umbrella Corporation, has been hiding a new evil deep within the basement of his mansion. Chris and Jill discover this grotesque evil standing in their way as the two enter deeper into the catacombs beneath the mansion.”
